At SKM Group, ever since our inception, we have believed in going beyond our call of duty. It stemmed out of our deep commitment to the society as well as to the collective that drives us forward. Disha and Yogdaan are two initiatives that fruition out of this organic way of life.
This is our way of extending helping hands to the girls from economically challenged and destitute social circumstances. It provides Healthcare Assistant-level training, enabling the beneficiaries in their path to achieve economic independence and competence.
Charnock Hospital, our basecamp, imparts intense training on healthcare to the recipients over one year that covers both theory and practical, ensuring their successful appointment as Healthcare Assistants in various organisations. It is a free of cost, full time residential program for one year.
We believe that inclusivity is essential to the holistic well being of not just the underprivileged but also our near and dear ones. It was with this thought that we conceived project Yogdaan. The initiative today is a combined effort of our corporate intervention, team members and even associates — who extend their helping hands — irrespective of rank and file, by contributing to the society. Yogdaan operates through Calcutta Social Project and Rise, United Kingdom.
Yogdaan accords education, accommodation, food, and healthcare to underprivileged children. It also organises educational programme for the street children and even run a crèche to support working mothers. It reaches out to around 400 lives and their families.
